So, why are pesticides bad? If you spray pesticides, it lands on food that rodents eat, such as a rabbit. This rabbit then becomes sick. It may just die, or something up the food chain such as an owl will eat it. This owl will then die. And so the poison travels up the food chain, killing more and more animals and affecting our planet.
Food for Thought: Should pesticide be legal? We don’t think so Pesticides cause huge damage to food chains (see next post) and just aren’t needed or worth the damage. See the next food for thought to see what happens when pesticides are used
Just to say, eco challenge 6.5 should be eco challenge 7.5 Hope you are all having fun with your robots - we are so excited for our regionals!
So, what can you do? Firstly, always try to buy fair trade, recyclable products. You can also buy in bulk, which reduces plastic packaging.
Challenge 07: buy less plastic Next time you go shopping - think. How much plastic packaging is in your product. Does one pear really need to be wrapped in 60000 layers of plastic? Ok, that might be an exaggeration but not by much. There is an easy solution though
We have mixed our lyrics up, and we have a final piece! We worked so hard on this, and it's it so different to what we started with. Next, we have to record it, and we decided to use piano, and the drums too. We can't wait to hear the finished piece!
As many of you have probably encountered, the annoying bump at the bottom of the ramp stops our robot, Hamilton, from even going up. We need to work on something...
We finally got round our problems for Task E, and we managed to get the battery store out without it touching the floor!
We had fun with this one. We inspiration from 'We're Killing the Earth' and we made a whole new song! We have also made our own music, and we are going to record next week. We will post a verse everyday on our BrainBot, so if you want a sneak peek, you know what to do!
Oh god! We used the motor so our 'grabber' could open and close, not go up and down, so when we pick up the battery store, it touches the ground losing us points...We are trying to fix it, but don't really know what to do. We might add a manual lever somewhere - if we have space!
