What age are the students taking part in the programme and competition?

Students should be aged 11-14. Older students can support as mentors.

When do the competitions take place?

Regional competitions take place in February and March.

UK competition is on Friday 15th March 2019 at The Big Bang UK Young Scientists & Engineers Fair, at the NEC in Birmingham

Tickets will be released for the Fair in the Autumn Term. To find out when sign up to the Big Bang newsletter so you can register for tickets and attend whether you get through to the UK final or not.

What resources should I have?



aviation challenge activity set (mat, plane, service vehicle, mini-figures, cardboard ramp, dice and 3M dual lock tape)

Can I invite a STEM Ambassador to support the Programme or visit the team?

Yes, our research shows that the more contact a young person has with someone from a STEM career, the more likely they are to choose a STEM career themselves.

The FIRST® LEGO® League is an international competition run in the UK by IET (The Institution of Engineering and Technology).

The Tomorrow’s Engineers EEP Robotics Challenge is designed to provide schools and teachers with the resources and training in LEGO robotics engineering, and the skills to not be daunted entering such a huge international competition as the FIRST® LEGO® League.
